Housing at Faith Haven …

We are able to accommodate up to six young women at a time as live-in residents at Faith Haven. During a young woman’s stay, she receives counseling, educational or vocational opportunities, parenting and adoption education, childbirth preparation and abstinence education. Since making decisions is often a trying experience during a crisis, there is time spent teaching young women decision-making skills. Perhaps the hardest decision a young woman makes while staying at Faith Haven is whether to parent or place her baby for adoption.

Helping young women through this difficult time are Faith Haven’s house parents; a Christian couple dedicated to fostering the emotional, mental and spiritual development of each young woman. Our Christian heritage remains a vital part of what we do at Faith Haven. Weekly church services, daily devotions and Bible study are among the ways women are encouraged to develop their spirituality. In addition, home and life management skills are taught and practiced by Faith Haven houseparents.

While residing at Faith Haven, young women engage in an interactive, biblically based, behavioral program designed to equip young women with behaviors and skills necessary for purposeful living. The behaviors and skills imparted through this program set young women up for success in every area of life.

Faith Haven residents who are not already enrolled in an educational program, are entitled to participate in our vocational opportunity program. This program consists of various vocational opportunities arranged by Faith Haven. Included are paid jobs, as well as paid and unpaid internships with businesses in nearby communities. Providing vocational opportunities allows young women to gain workplace experience, explore careers, and possibly earn more income. For some, participation in this program may lead to full-time employment, enabling financial independence from family and state funding. Others may find that the work they so enjoy requires further education, motivating them to continue their education. Either way, our goal at Faith Haven is to equip these young women to leave our home with clear direction and a sense of peace and purpose for their future.
